S'Agaró surroundings
Among rocks, pine trees and glamour lies the most mythical and exclusive architectural jewel by the sea, S'Agaró , with one foot in Sant Feliu de Guíxols and the other in the municipality of Castell d'Aro, Platja d'Aro i S'Agaró, in the Baix Empordà.
At the beginning of the 20th century, Josep Ensesa, with the help of the architect Rafael Masó, had the vision of building a Catalan garden-city in a noucentista framework where architecture and urban planning would fully respect the landscape and show an image of a style respectful of the environment. Thus, S'Agaró presents an urbanization built with great taste and success that respects both the environment and the landscape, which at the same time is embellished by majestic and imposing constructions such as the Loggia de Senya Blanca, the gazebo of the Plaça del Mirador, the Hostal de La Gavina and each of the houses that form part of an indivisible architectural ensemble declared a Cultural Asset of National Interest since 1996.
The Camí de Ronda in S'Agaró connects the Sant Pol Beach with the Sa Conca Beach, always following the coast, without damaging it, and is part of the GR 92 that runs along the entire Costa Brava. The Coastal Path is named as Josep Ensesa and has the only section accessible to people with reduced mobility on the Costa Brava.
